So, many of you know I’ve been to the TRials consecutively since 2002. I drove a perfectly good TR250 there and proceeded to take it apart shortly there after. Big mistake (anyone wanna buy it...it’s still in pieces?). Next 4 or 5 years I drove my 74 TR6. I sold the 6 because I’d found a pretty decent 6, but again a project. The plan was to use the proceeds to have it painted. Squirrel! Found a 2000. Still had enough for paint. Squirrel! Found a RHD GT6. No more money for paint. So I drove the 2000, GT6 for the next few years. Then found a pretty decent TR4. Drove that to TRials a couple years. I rescued a pretty decent 71 TR6 from an estate sale and intended on driving it to TRials last year, but ran out of time...just like they do on TV. Still nothing accomplished on the 250. Mind you I’ve bought & sold about 4 250s, a TR8, 2 TR3s, 2 TR4s, 2 surrey tops etc along the way each time thinking I’d get my 250 painted...nope!

So I figured I’d finish up the 6 this spring and drive it to TRials. UNTIL I got word of another 71 that would be available for the price previously paid (“what I have in it”).

So the push was on, finish up the 6 and sell it. Worked on it a bunch. During this time I scored a pretty good parts hoard. Bought that. Included was a set of KN Minilites. Guy came down to buy em. Saw the 250. We talked about a price...he sounded genuinely interested. Then he walks by the 6. Not only did I sell the wheels, but he bought the 6 2 weeks later. Still have the 250.

Tomorrow I’m headed up east to buy (probably) the nicest TR I’ve ever owned and it will be going to TRials. Been a long time. Photos to follow.

Naturally, I’m bringing goetta with me

    Cheers

    Todd

Travel safe and don't stop and sell it at some gas station or something, (beware of the stranger on the other side of the pump that says, "Hey, nice car...is that an MG? how much ya take for her?)
