  • New TR6 owner from Iowa

Just bought a 1976 TR6 and joined the forum. I have had a British car addiction as long as I can remember but this is my 1st TR6. Overall the car is in excellent shape and just needs a few little details. I have ordered parts from TRF and am going to replace the brakes and brake lines since stopping seems like a priority. I have really enjoyed reading thru this forum so far.......seems like a lot of very helpful folks here and I look forward to learning all about the TR6's. Thanks for having me.

Very nice wheels you got there. Speaking of wheels...well tires. How old are those redlines? Careful with those guys

            Cheers

Welcome, from a close neighbor in Missouri. What part of Iowa? Congrats on your choice of color,....I'm kinda partial to red.

What's your background with LBC's? Do you have the "must have" manuals, i.e. Bentley and Haynes? And then there is the Dan Masters electrical manual.

                Cheers!

Got any photos of the frame, particularly around the center cruciform 'T-shirt'?
                    Looks nice on top.

TR6's are starting to bring higher values- it's a decent investment, should at least hold its value.
And then, there's the fun factor. Your TR can teach you a lot. Like a demanding pet or mistress. "Feed me, feed me."

You should become a member and support 6-Pack, it is a very cheap cost for the value returned.

Welcome to the forum! Ican say that without 6-pack I would've been out of my car after a year. Great looking car, too. Where did you find it?

Skootch.... It has been living here in Iowa with the same owner for the last 14 years.

Wolf....Ive had Jags, a Spitfire (still have it), and MGB's. I've always admired the TR6's and finally just decided to make it happen. I do have a pile of great manuals that the PO sent along with the car !

TR250...those tires are too old. They look great, but I know they have not been made for quite a while and I am overly cautious about tires. It'll get new ones before it travels very far.

Thanks to all for your kind comments and welcoming me to your site. I look forward to learning a lot from this great forum.
