  • GoodParts CV Joint axle/hub assembly for Stock Differential

I spoke to Richard about how "bolt on" this install is and mentioned that there may some grinding involved for clearance. Has anyone who's installed this done any grinding?

Here is a link to my blog and the only grinding I had to do was inside the trailing arms to remove ridges that would rub the CV boots...
Hope this helps! (click on the July 2011 link)

I had the same experience. I just had to sand down the ridges in the trailing arm. I used 60 then 80 grit sanding disk on my drill and it was fairly easy. I really hated to put them on the car they are so pretty, but my wife did not want them displayed on the mantle.

I put a pair in a year ago and the rear end has never been as quiet when driving! The grinding was very minimal - I used a small stone on an electric drill. You'll spot the ridges when the hole in the TA is cleaned up. BTW - only the drivers side NEEDED grinding, but I did the other side, too.

Thanks. Now all I have to do is drop $1,400.

I bought RG hubs to use with stock shafts. That was ~8 years ago and they’ve been great. Like Red Streak above, they were so pretty that I didn’t want to bury them in the car
