  • Mouse Blocker

Here in Vegas at the SEMA show and met the folks at mouse blocker.com . They make ultrasonic devices to keep mice away while in winter storage . Little tiny box like a battery keeper and priced about $60 or less. They also have tape infused with Capsaicin that can be used on or within wiring harnesses. I have not tried these products or have financial interest in them but have opened a few glove boxes filled with a nest made from any paperwork within. By the way SEMA is amazing as always. Rick

Do they have any devices that will keep woodpeckers away from wood sided houses?

I've had success putting those "sticky traps" you buy at the supermarket - place them along the extremities of the garage - mice like to run next to walls. I use dryer sheets also in the car, but the first defense is to get them before they get to the car. Caught a bat and a chipmunk so far in the traps - bat was dead but chipmunk was not - poured some salad oil on the trap and put it outside - chipmunk got loose; the salad oil neutralizes the sticky stuff.

Several thousand wood pecked holes on my bradford pear tree, none in my concrete siding.

That needs a caption! "You talking to me, buddy?"

You beat me to it. Most effective. Especially the females.

Our two mouse blockers on patrol in front of the garage.

My wife puts collars on them with bells because she doesn't like it when they do what cats do.

          Boo with the look.

FTC went after ultrasonic devices some years ago.
I use snap traps outside the car and dryer sheets in the car. Glue traps strike me as being cruel.
If you have a cat or dog be careful with anticoagulant poisons, they stay in the body after death (bioaccumulate) and because the mouse doesn't die immediately it keeps eating and it can have enough in its body to harm cats etc. (secondary poisoning they call it).
Sadly a poisoned mouse is easier for cats to to catch as well.
