  • GT6 Rear Hubs

My GT6 has the interesting Rotoflex axles. Apparently it is in good company. Lotus, Porsche, Mercedes, and Alfa Romeo all used Rotoflex at one time or another.

    Radius arm bracket, slug, puck...
Rather amazing representation of the required job.
I knew that you were pretty adept, but this is a new level of proof. Nice job, Ed. (Hope it works!)

I didn’t attempt to deal with the radius arm bolt. Left it in place. After having done the trailing arm bolt, I wasn’t about to do 2 of em. Btw, I used heat for a while then a punch & hammer on one end only. After smacking my knuckles way too many times, I was able to get it to move.

of course that side was mushroomed so flip it over & drive it out the other way

next fun part is installing the assemblies back onto the spring.
So much rust, so little time

I think every BMW ever had Rotoflexes (guibos)connecting the driveshaft to the gearbox. Also Hillman Imp and some Rovers, IIRC.

Just replaced one on wife’s X3 at 150k miles.
