So.... Say Ed decides to install a Rover V8 (which fits in the GT6) could we still watch?

Always thought the GT6 was a good looking car and fun to drive.

      Will the 2.5 fit in a GT6?

BTW, when I was in college, a girl I knew traded her ginormous Checker in for a new GT6 at the local BL dealer. Quite a move up.

I toyed with the idea of swapping in a Buick/Rover 215 V8, but I now think I'll stay fairly stock.

I think a TR6 engine would be a pretty easy swap. The blocks appear to be essentially the same. Different gearbox though, so might be better to swap that, too. If I had a TR6 mill hanging around, I'd be mulling that over.

While none of us requires the approbation of any other, and with the big investments of time and now money in my TR6, for me the grail Triumphs are the TR5/250 and the GT6. So few survivors, so under-appreciated, the GT6 has always been an object of my lust. I will watch your project with great interest.

I'll be following this one too. I had to give up on the Mk III I had several years ago as it was much more work than I had planned for. The body was virtually rust free but the engine and tranny were toast.

Looks like a great project. I did a body on restoration of a 68 GT6 MkI a few years ago, so excited to see how this one goes.

Yep, the 2.5L will fit. I'm running one in my street GT6 currently, just a bit north of 150 HP to the wheels. A little massaging of the GT6 sump is required to clear the throws of the crank....and the TR6 gearbox is a good upgrade for strength anyways. The added torque is so much fun on the street!
