    Fuel Pump Fun

For some reason I just don't think i should have this much sediment in my fuel pump!

I did the Por-15 kit in '05, and just replaced all the soft lines this summer. The tank is still going strong. However, I.will admit to having more time than money back then. YMMV.

    Tony,

A number of 6-packers joined in a group purchase of a common design larger aluminum fuel tank. See the LONG thread about this in late 2017 to early 2018:

There are other posts about this tank. Do a search for “Boyd” and “tank.”

Besides, I've heard too may bad things about the coatings flaking off and creating even more problems.
You could always get one with a larger capacity too!

Just picked this car up so I've got to prioritize projects for the winter. The plan is absolutely to replace the tank. We are on the same page with that one. I need four new tires for sure because the ones that are on it are a solid 10 years old. I've got a brand new filter for the fuel but I'm thinking of installing a second one as a backup. One prior to the fuel pump and one after. Hope to send carbs to poolboy for rebuild, etc. But at a minimum I can report after tonight's test drive that it seems like I have repaired my fuel starvation issues. For now.

Wow! Might be a good time to pull & clean/coat the tank.

    Cheers,
