  • Tachometer needle replacement

Fixing a few cosmetic items on the dash while it's cold outside (55 degrees in New Orleans). My tachometer needle broke a while back when it was accidentally dropped. It's not a big deal but it drives me nuts that its a bit shorter than the speedo needle.
I have a lead on a cheap tachometer from which I would remove the needle and replace my broken needle. My question to the forum: is it possible to remove and replace the needle?

Yes. The hardest part is getting the Tach out and bezel open. The needle pulls off but gently so as not to damage the mechanism. You might want to use a fork to apply pressure evenly across the base and not bend the shaft.
