  • Convertible Top Protector Caps

My son designed and printed some protector caps for my brand new stayfast hood (convertible top). The caps protect the top from the locking pins. The blue one was a prototype, the final version is black ABS with foam. Email at: gimpsunlimited@gmail.com .

I tried 15-20 times over several weeks then gave up. So, pulled the pin on a new user name. Just changed the profile pic, it's a bit obscure. Trust me, I don't own a suit. Should I add a comma and a question mark to the new username?

Put me down for a pair Huh. Look for a faded Pimento 6 with lots of lights and instruments.

Will do. "They only come in black" though ;-). Spoiler alert, hopefully, for a new forum post this weekend about another design project.

My apologies to John, it's Jasmine!!! So look for the Jasmine! supercharged 6. Wire wheels, lots of nice touches and fast, very fast. Most likely the only one on this planet. Maybe I can still park next to him.

The Caps are now version 2.5. Available for sale on gimpsunlimited.com . Quite a few folks at Triumphest 2018 bought them. I ended up selling my personal set as I had run out.

In the photo of the two protector caps together, one cap seems to be slightly taller than the other. Is there a reason for that?

The caps are the same size, printed from the same file, on the same 3D printer. The photo was taken with a cell phone. I have no idea why they look different. I can assure you, there are the same, just like the 220+ other caps that have been printed.
