  • BritsBest Radium

Although sponsored by the Calgary MG club as usual Triumphs were well represented, including Shawn (morty), George (novotny) and myself. We ways look forward to this event as to get there entails a 3 hour drive through the Rockies; motivation enough! We missed our usual stalwart Henri (teer6) who is currently otherwise engaged inhis MG on a cross country drive.

Not this year, Ken. Interestingly Radium has a pretty much permanent population of bighorn sheep. Being right on the boundary of Kootenay National Park they feel safe enough to frequent the town and grab any morsels they can find out of gardens. Last year we saw a grizzly sow and her cub right by the highway, but the snow melted much earlier this year so they've been able to get back to the high country to find their grub. The only "wildlife" we encountered were all kinds of TRucks who felt obligated to blow by our piddly little LBC's even though we were cruising "comfortably" over the speed limit!

Looks like a live band for entertainment, how cool !

So many car shows I've been to they play pre-recorded 50's music.

I'm fine with nostalgia and all, but Blech!

Hi Dave. Brits Best was on our list of want to attend events this year but with only 906 miles on the car My confidence is not quite there yet for long trips, with Radium being a five hour drive away and not wanting to trailer the car We decided to stay close to home this season attending local day trip events and getting some miles on the car. There are day trip events every weekend in our area this summer but only two that are British and one import only. Kinda sucks being the only Brit or one of three at the two We have attended so far but We are meeting a lot of great people and and a lot of past LBC owners commenting on how they wish they had kept their's due to the top down driving fun factor that they do not have with their current rides.
Hopefully Scarlet will pass muster through Her first season on the road and We can be more adventurous next summer and also have a travel partner. Brother Craig is involved with His new camper and rig this summer and tells Me next summer He will be touring with Us in His fresh 76. We are both looking forward to a summer together with our cars, something that hasn't happened for well over twenty years now.
